In 1954, we built a cement factory at the Omi Plant in Niigata Prefecture, and embarked full-scale in the cement business using the abundance of limestone obtained from Mt. Kurohime adjacent to the plant as its raw material. Since then, it has grown into the largest cement plant along the Sea of Japan following both equipment and technological improvements.
Denka Cement enjoys a solid reputation for its quality and logistical system, as a crucial basic material that supports the important infrastructure underpinning all our lives, and as such is much appreciated by our customers.
Also, our cement plants are expanding the utilization of industrial waste (from both in-house and external sources), as the raw material for cement and fuel (including for biomass power generation), thus contributing to the establishment of a resource-recycling society as well.
